Mears appoints new boss for its largest social housing division

Mears has appointed Graham Eden as managing director of its largest social housing division – the London region.

Mr Eden will be joining the Mears Group in October 2009.

He was most recently chief operating officer of Morrison’s social housing and facilities services business, having worked in the sector for 29 years including the last six years with Morrison.

He brings significant major partnership contract experience within the repairs and maintenance sector including roles at both operational and strategic level.

Mears chief executive Bob Holt said: “It has always been a focus of Mears to seek to strengthen the senior management team to ensure that we have in place a structure that can plan for and manage future growth.

“We have led the social housing sector for the past ten years and Graham’s appointment is a tremendous accolade to the strength of our social housing brand that the best operators in the market have a desire to join the best service provider.”
