Tyndale Flooring Group in administration

More than 160 workers have been made redundant after flooring contractor Tyndale Flooring Group was placed into administration.

Administrator KPMG said it has been appointed to handle five companies under the umbrella; Tyndale Flooring Group, Becket House Holdings, Tyndale Flooring and Floor It, all based in Beckton, east London, along with E Bryson Flooring, in Kirkcaldy, Scotland.

The group also has sites in Warrington, Staffordshire, Leeds, Sunderland and Cardiff.

KPMG said a total of 148 staff and three consultants employed by Tyndale Flooring, along with11 staff at E Bryson Flooring, were made redundant last week.

Will Wright, joint administrator along with Allan Graham, said: “Despite exhaustive efforts by the directors in recent days to secure a solvent disposal of the business, unfortunately a deal could not be concluded and there was no option but to request our appointment.

“Given the nature of the business we have regrettably had to cease trading whilst we consider the disposal options.”
