Student accommodation developer Unite has acquired a site in Coventry for a £13m development.
The site is in the centre of Coventry, next to an existing Unite property, and is expected to provide 280 student beds, subject to planning permission.
Unite said the total development cost is expected to be £13m.
The developer is targeting regional growth and is currently delivering new accommodation projects in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Newcastle and Portsmouth, in addition to its London portfolio (pictured, Islington).
It said the new Coventry scheme is scheduled to be open in time for the 2017/18 academic year.
Coventry University is home to 24,000 students and moved up 19 places in the Good University Guide 2015 to number 42.
Unite Students managing director of property Richard Simpson said: “We are delighted to have secured another excellent site in a strong regional location in line with our development strategy.
“Our properties in Coventry have performed well over the last ten years and this new property will help meet the growing demand for student accommodation in the city.”
