Mark Thurston to take over from Mark Fallon as Europe MD

Mark Thurston has been appointed as the European managing director for CH2M Hill, replacing Mark Fallon who is now corporate vice-president for facilities and urban environments.

Mr Thurston was previously CH2M Hill’s director of operations for Europe.

He joined the firm in June 2008 and has managed the programme partner joint venture (known as Transcend) on Crossrail.

He was also programme delivery manager leading the roads and bridges programme on the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games as a member of the CLM delivery partner joint venture.

CH2M Hill chairman and CEO Jacque Hinman said: “Mark has worked on some of the UK’s most iconic infrastructure programmes including the London 2012 Olympic Games and Crossrail and has a wealth of experience in project and programme management.

“He is well placed to take forward our business in Europe and provide the leadership and market insight that will enable us to continue to grow our market share and ensure we deliver outstanding projects for our clients.”

Mr Thurston said: “It is a privilege to have been chosen to lead our European business.

“As well as focusing on growth and delivering projects for our clients across the region, I am passionate about developing the talent within the company and ensuring our young people have the opportunities I had, from starting as an apprentice, to build a successful career in engineering.”
