CIH names new deputy chief executive

The Chartered Institute of Housing’s deputy chief executive and director of operations Jeff James is leaving the organisation to take up a new role at The National Archives.

Mr James will become the new chief executive of The National Archives, with Gavin Smart taking over as deputy chief executive in July.

Mr Smart was director of policy and practice for over two years at the CIH before being promoted to the role.

CIH said it will begin recruitment for a new director of operations “imminently”.
