Ex-Carillion MD to lead Tarmac infrastructure team

Tarmac has brought in Carillion’s former UK civil engineering managing director to lead its infrastructure team.

Andy Brown will head up Tarmac’s Infrastructure business along with its delivery of public sector civil engineering projects.

Tarmac highlighted that Mr Brown’s appointment followed the firm’s recent acquisition of Welsh road surfacing specialist Alun Griffiths.

Mr Brown served as Carillion’s civil engineering managing director for the six months prior to the contractor’s liquidation.

Before that Mr Brown served as operations director and contracts director, having joined Carillion in 2009.

Tarmac Contracting managing director Paul Fleetham said: “Andy’s wealth of experience in the infrastructure sector will help us continue driving the breadth of service we offer to customers and build on the innovative, expert services that our clients expect.”
