Ex-Kier MD to lead Anglian Water consortium

Former Kier managing director Paul Fletcher has joined Anglian Water to head up its @oneAlliance consortium of contractors and consultants.

Mr Fletcher joined the utilities firm in September and will formally take over as director of the consortium in January.

He will replace Dale Evans, who will move to consultancy post after 15 years in the role.

The @oneAlliance partnership provides design and build services across the company’s portfolio and comprises Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Mott MacDonald Bentley, Skanska, Stantec Treatment and Sweco.

Mr Fletcher will serve as Anglian Water’s lead in the consortium, taking responsibility for the capital delivery of the client’s £6.5bn 2020-2025 investment plan – its largest programme to date.

Commenting on Mr Fletcher’s appointment, Anglian Water chief executive Peter Simpson said: “He brings a wealth of leadership experience from the sector and specifically our current partner organisations, which will be essential in driving the alliance forward in this new era and meeting the unique challenges in the water sector and this part of the country.”

Mr Fletcher has around 30 years of experience in the industry and was previously managing director of Kier Utility Services from September 2013 to September 2018.

He was responsible for overseeing Kier’s water, energy, telecoms and waterways sectors, as well as 2,500 employees.
