Aecom’s global head of building engineering David Glover will leave the firm at the end of the month to take on a new CEO role.
Mr Glover will become chief executive of Intelligent Engineering, a UK-based firm delivering engineering products to the built environment.
He joined Aecom from Arup, where he had been chair of its global property market, in 2011.
An Aecom spokesman said: “While we will greatly miss David in his role as global head of Building Engineering, we are delighted to say that he will continue to work with Aecom as a consultant.
“In particular, he will continue to lead Aecom’s involvement in the annual Serpentine Pavilion project, which is one of the most high-profile projects for the firm.
“He will also work closely with our architecture and engineering teams in his new organisation helping to develop and deliver innovative solutions for our projects and the industry.”
Intelligent Engineering’s current UK chief Michael Kennedy said: “I am delighted to welcome David Glover as our new CEO, effective 1 November 2014.
“David’s arrival allows me to take on the role of executive chairman and focus on the development of strategic relationships with both current and prospective global partners.
“David comes with a strong engineering, business and delivery background from his years with Arup, and more recently as the global chief executive of building engineering at Aecom.
“David will be looking to integrate these skills across the IE team and business to strengthen both our product offering and our key relationships and to ensure that we continue to deliver a world-class product and service to our clients.”
