Multiplex has hired Laing O’Rourke’s former infrastructure commercial boss to head up its commercial division.
Paul Maguire spent nearly a decade at the Laing O’Rourke before leaving in August and has now become the commercial director for Multiplex’s European business.
His role at O’Rourke followed more than 10 years at Bovis Lendlease as a commercial manager and then commercial director.
Mr Maguire joins Multiplex after the firm posted turnover of just over £1bn for the year ending 31 December 2016 – up 67 per cent on 2015’s figure.
The results came off the back of a number of high-profile contract wins, including the deal to build the £600m 22 Bishopsgate project and as main contractor for the first phase of the £1.7bn Royal Albert Dock scheme.
He is the second senior figure to leave Laing O’Rourke’s procurement team in the past 12 months, with its head of procurement Andy Bacon leaving to head up Mace’s procurement team last October.
Laing O’Rourke confirmed Mr Taylor had left the firm. Multiplex has been contacted for comment.
