Morgan Sindall recruits new board member

Morgan Sindall has recruited William Hill non-executive director David Lowden to join its board.

Mr Lowden will officially join the board in a non-executive role on 10 September, becoming a member of the company’s remuneration, nomination and audit committees.

He will carry out the role alongside his other non-exec posts as chair of William Hill’s audit and risk committee, and chairman of global recruitment firm PageGroup.

Mr Lowden was previously chief executive of Taylor Nelson Sofres for three years between 2006 and 2009.

He has also held senior finance roles at jewellery manufacturer Asprey and global logistics firm Fedex.

Last week Morgan Sindall reported pre-tax profit of £29.9m for the half year to 30 June 2018, up 29 per cent on the same period of 2017.

The company said performance was ahead of expectations for the half-year, with its construction and infrastructure business reporting an increase in operating profit from £7.6m to £11.3m.
