RLB hires ex-Amazon exec to drive logistics arm

Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) has hired a former Amazon executive to head up its logistics and industrial sector business in the North as it steps up growth plans.

Duncan Robertson, who was Amazon’s EU Standards and programme manager for eight months until August this year, has taken up the newly-created Manchester-based role with RLB.

Mr Robertson was responsible for developing designs, process and cost for Amazon’s fulfilment centres and logistic centres across Europe.

Earlier in his career, he had a 10-year spell at Tesco and spent 11-and-a-half years as Carillion’s retail account manager.

The appointment comes after the consultant poached five Mace executives in July

Mr Robertson said: “The logistics and industrial sectors are growing markets for RLB and ones where RLB’s expertise of project management, programme management and cost consultancy have real impact and help manage efficiencies.”

RLB is currently working with clients including Amazon as well as Harworth Estates, IM Properties, iPort Doncaster, Lidl, M&S, Morrisons, Royal Mail, Segro and Verdion, the company added.
