Former Kier chief operating officer Steve Bowcott named MD of John Sisk & Son

Former Kier chief operating officer Steve Bowcott has been named as managing director of John Sisk & Son, replacing Garry Crabtree.

Sisk Group made the announcement today that Mr Bowcott, who left Kier on 30 April, will take up the role from 1 September.

A spokesman said: “With 40 years of experience, Stephen Bowcott brings a strong track record of success in the senior leadership of major construction organisations.

“He will take over from Garry Crabtree who leaves as planned, having successfully established the basis for the company to grow further in the years ahead.

“The board thanks Garry for his commitment and achievements, and confirms that he will remain with the business in an advisory capacity.”

Mr Bowcott became COO at Kier following its May Gurney takeover in 2013.
