Former Bam Construct managing director Richard Bailey has joined Rugby-based contractor Stepnell as a director.
Mr Bailey left Bam in August 2016 after 39 years at the firm, including the last seven years as managing director.
Stepnell said he would take up a newly created director post with the regional contractor and will be tasked with shaping company strategy.
The firm is aiming to increase turnover from the £156m posted in its most recent accounts to £200m by 2020.
In June last year Stepnell poached Bouygues’ senior purchasing manager Peter Luska to become its national chief buyer.
Stepnell joint managing director Tom Wakeford said: “Richard is well-known for his creative thinking and personal approach with customers and employees.
“His experience and expertise will be invaluable as we continue to pursue organic and planned growth.”
Mr Bailey joined Bam in 1977, becoming western regional director of its Construct business in 1995 before joining the board in 2007.
He was appointed managing director of Bam Construct in 2010.
Bam announced Mr Bailey’s departure in June 2016, stating at the time that he was leaving to pursue interests elsewhere.
