Stepnell poaches Bouygues chief buyer

Bouygues’ senior purchasing manager Peter Luska has joined Stepnell to become its national chief buyer.

The Rugby-based contractor has appointed Mr Luska to lead on all procurement across the £120m-turnover firm.

He is the second high-profile member of the Bouygues commercial team to leave the company this year after its commercial director Colin Whitfield joined Balfour Beatty in March.

Mr Luska previously held the role of company buyer for Leadbitter Group prior to the firm being bought by Bouygues in 2012.

He has experience in sectors including education, healthcare, leisure, student accommodation and housing.

Stepnell joint managing director Tom Wakeford says: “I’m delighted that we have secured someone of Peter’s calibre and with such a wide range of industry experience to take on this crucial national procurement role.

“Ensuring the business continues to be backed by the best skills and labour and has access to top-quality construction materials is absolutely critical to the success of our growth strategy.”
