Kent council advertises £11m road scheme

Kent County Council is inviting firms to bid for an £11 million contract covering improvements to M20 Junction 9 on the outskirts of Ashford.

The scheme involves the widening and signalisation of M20 Junction 9 and Drovers Roundabout as well as the construction of a cable stay foot/cycle bridge over the M20 east of Junction 9.

Work is due to start on 4 May 2010 and scheduled for completion by the end of March 2011. Six contractors will be invited to tender on 11 January 2010.

Firms have until 18 December to submit pre-qualification questionnaires.
