Liverpool approves £15m student digs plan

Liverpool City Council has approved a £15 million project to create student accommodation on a derelict piece of land in the city.

EHA Developments’ plans for the empty site, at Chatham Place in Edge Hill, include 354 bedrooms divided into groups of units, each sharing communal lounges and kitchens.

The units will be split between a main U-shaped building and two wings in the middle. The buildings will be arranged around four outdoor courtyards and rise to a maximum height of five storeys.

Work is expected to start in the autumn.
