McLaren Construction reorganises into five operating divisions

McLaren’s construction company is looking to increase its staff headcount after an overhaul of its business saw five new operating divisions created.

Three new regional arms – London, South, and Midlands & North – have been set up, as well as a major projects and an international division. They will all operate under the existing McLaren Construction Group.

The group said the revamp will allow it to “align itself more closely with its customers and to recognise and reward high-performing regional teams”.

There will be no job losses as a result of the reorganisation. Instead, the company will look to grow its number of employees.

Executive chairman Kevin Taylor and group managing director Phil Pringle will remain in their roles.

Mr Pringle said: “In this current market it is crucial for construction businesses to remain close to their customers and to fully incentivise their teams.

“While McLaren Construction is currently trading profitably, our performance can always be improved as we seek to gain market share and grow our customer base.”

Overall McLaren Construction employs more than 700 people in the UK and the United Arab Emirates, having been established in 2002.

The £411m turnover business will continue to operate from its Chiswell Street and Curzon Street bases in London, with offices in Brentwood, Birmingham, Leeds, Warrington, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

McLaren Property, which runs as a separate business, will be unaffected by the re-organisation.

Mr Taylor said: “For our employees we believe this will bring further rewards and improved opportunities to allow them to progress along their career paths.”
