Milton Keynes school ceiling collapses

Emergency repairs have had to be carried out at a school in Milton Keynes after part of the ceiling collapsed during the school holidays.

Council workers were called in to fix the roof at Castlethorpe First School before the new term begins on 7 September.

The work, however, was hampered by the discovery of long-eared bats – a protected species – in the roof space. The school now plans to upgrade the ceilings throughout the building.
