Pochin Construction wins work worth £3m

Cheshire-based Pochin Construction has won three public-sector contracts worth more than £3 million.

The deals will see the firm build a sports hall at All Saints College in Rawtenstall, a 4,650 sq ft single-storey classroom block at Westwood College in Leek and a 11,840 sq ft building at The Grange Junior School in Hartford.

The contracts are thought to be worth in the region of £500,000, £900,000 and £1.9 million respectively.

Managing director Jon Pochin also revealed that the company was working on a number of projects at Bangor University and Mid-Cheshire college, building what will become known as the Winsford Learning Zone.

The learning zone is due for completion in March 2010 and aims to provide a centre for educational excellence for Winsford, delivering a range of courses for the community.

Mr Pochin said: “Pochin Construction is building an impressive portfolio within the education sector,” and added that the company hoped to extend its reach further in the near future.
