Bowmer & Kirkland 2014/15 results show profit up 45 per cent

Bowmer & Kirkland Group increased its pre-tax profit to £39.1m in the year to 31 August 2015, up 44.8 per cent from £27m the year before.

Turnover rose 15.8 per cent to £848.1m from £732.3m, its results show.

Chairman John Kirkland said all divisions were performing in line with expectations and the steady improvement in the construction market seen in 2014 had continued into the following year.

“With economic confidence returning to our core markets, the directors believe the overall outlook remains positive and that the group is well positioned to deliver controlled, profitable and consistent growth in 2016,” he said.

Mr Kirkland said the group had achieved the status of a ‘Planet First’-certified company, which recognised its commitment to minimise its impact on the environment.

He added: “As both a company and individuals, we acknowledge our responsibilities to the societies and the environments we interact with when carrying out our business.

“This is supported from our senior teams through to our operatives on site and is at the heart of our whole business ethos.”
