Rydon wins £16m Clapham regen contract

Rydon has secured a £16 million regeneration contract for Clapham Park Homes.

In total 113 homes will be built in two phases by December 2010 as part of the overall regeneration of Clapham Park, south London. A commercial unit and underground car park are also part of the contract.

An energy centre is planned for the site although it is undecided as to what form it will take yet.

Rydon contracts manager Ben Finch said: “Rydon is committed to delivering a high level of sustainable regeneration, which is both environmentally and socially beneficial to the people who live in them and the surrounding areas. A considerable amount of time and effort has been devoted to ensure this project lives up to these high standards.”

In partnership with Clapham Park Homes and the Clapham Park Project, Rydon will be selecting five local young people to take up apprenticeships on the scheme.

As part of the apprenticeships they will enroll at Lambeth College and work towards an NVQ Level 2 for their chosen trade.
