Mike Kasher has joined Simons Group as group finance director – the third senior figure the company has poached from Carillion.
Mr Kasher has spent more than 20 years in the construction sector, having previously worked with Simons now chief executive Tom Robinson running Carillion’s facilities management business, Monteray North.
He has also held posts in Carillion’s construction, government services and private finance businesses, working his way up from financial controller to finance director of Carillion Construction Services.
Mr Robinson said: “I have every confidence that he will be a key driver for the future successes of Simons Group.”
Mr Robinson joined Simons from Carillion as chief executive in July 2014 having been the latter’s chief sustainability officer.
Simons construction director Mark Holden joined from Carillion in March 2015, where he had been responsible for its fleet management and recruitment businesses.
Simons was founded in 1944 and works in the retail, health and distribution sectors.
Mr Kasher replaces Christian O’Connell, who has left after four-and-a-half years during which he reduced the group’s pension deficit and shaped its five-year business plan.
