NSCC and UKCG to be known as Build UK as merger nears

The organisation formed by the merger of the NSCC and UKCG will be known as Build UK.

The two representative bodies announced the name today, ahead of next month’s vote that will rubber stamp the deal.

Current NSCC chief executive Suzannah Nichol will become CEO of the organisation, with current UKCG director Stephen Ratcliffe standing down.

The idea of the merger came to light in January, with the industry broadly backing the combination.

In a statement released earlier this month, the two groups said: “There is overwhelming support from members of both organisations to join up the contracting supply chain.”

UKCG chairman James Wates added: “This is a huge step forward for the supply chain and, while there are some undeniable anxieties about how the new organisation will function, all our discussions to date have been extremely positive.”
