Contractor sought for £11m Southampton data centre

The University of Southampton has begun the hunt for a contractor to build a new data centre worth up to £11 million.

The principal contractor will design and construct the new data centre through the refurbishment of an existing industrial building to provide a tier 2 data centre providing around 700Kw to 73 racks with a proposed electricity supply of 2.5MVA to include capacity for future expansion.

PQQ’s should be submitted by 23 September and invitation to tender will be sent out on 20 October.
