Our annual CN100 ranks the top 100 contractors by turnover and provides in-depth analysis of performance and prospects across the industry. Ahead of the publication of the 2016 edition next month, we look back at how last year’s top 30 have performed over the past four CN100s.
Amey has had a strong run over the previous four CN100s, entering the top 10 of contractors ranked by turnover in 2014 and holding onto 7th place last year.
Revenue has nearly doubled over the period, breaking the £2bn barrier in 2015 to hit £2.17bn.
Amey’s pre-tax profit dipped marginally as the recession continued to bite but recovered to pass £100m in CN100 2015.
Having held steady at 7-8 per cent, pre-tax profit took a hit in the firm’s 2014 CN100 entry before steadying in last year’s edition.
