Our annual CN100 ranks the top 100 contractors by turnover and provides in-depth analysis of performance and prospects across the industry. Ahead of the publication of the 2016 edition next month, we look back at how last year’s top 30 have performed over the past four CN100s.
Carillion has held a firm grip on second place among the top 100 contractors by turnover over the past four years.
The firm’s turnover declined between the 2012 and 2014 editions of the CN100, before edging back up in last year’s league.
This has not yet been reflected in pre-tax profit, which fell by around a third between Carillion’s 2013 and 2015 CN100 entries.
Margins have also declined over the past couple of leagues, though remain above the industry average.
