Our annual CN100 ranks the top 100 contractors by turnover and provides in-depth analysis of performance and prospects across the industry. Ahead of the publication of the 2016 edition later this month, we look back at how last year’s top 30 have performed over the past four CN100s.
Morgan Sindall arrested its slide down the contractor top 10 in 2015’s CN100, having cemented fourth place for several years previously.
After a sharp slide in turnover between the 2012 and 2013 tables, the contractor edged up the following year before accelerating by 6 per cent in last year’s rankings.
Pre-tax profit has been on a remarkably steady downward trend, though still stood at a relatively healthy £22.8m as per the 2015 publication.
Margins have followed a similar pattern, their decline accelerating slightly between the 2014 and 2015 CN100s.
