This month marks the publication of the 2016 CN100, our annual analysis of the state of the industry that ranks the top 100 contractors by turnover. We continue our countdown to this year’s edition with a look back at how 2015’s top 30 contractors have performed in previous CN100s.
Morrison Utility Services recovered from dropping outside the top 30 to be named the 28th biggest contractor by turnover two years running.
Revenue slipped back in the 2015 CN100, having shot up 10 per cent as per 2013’s table before flattening out in 2014’s.
Pre-tax profit also stuttered slightly in last year’s edition but remained comfortably above the £17.7m posted as per 2013’s rankings.
The firm’s margins have been significantly above the top 100 average over the past four CN100s, despite a slight fall in the most recent publication.
