CN100 countdown: Skanska

Our annual CN100 ranks the top 100 contractors by turnover and provides in-depth analysis of performance and prospects across the industry. Ahead of the publication of the 2016 edition later this month, we look back at how last year’s top 30 have performed over the past four CN100s.

Skanska has been on the cusp of the top 10 contractors by turnover for several years, peaking at 11th in CN100 2012.

Revenue has recovered from an end-of-recession dip to accelerate in recent CN100s, climbing by around 13 per cent between 2014’s and last year’s.

Figures for pre-tax profit have been steady, with a marginal 6 per cent dip between the firm’s 2014 and 2015 entries.

Though pre-tax margin was also down in last year’s ranking, Skanska’s remain well above the top 100 average.
