CN100 countdown: Vinci

CN’s annual CN100 ranks the industry’s leading contractors by turnover alongside detailed analysis of the industry’s performance and prospects. With the 2016 league set to be revealed next week, we look back at how last year’s top 30 CN100 firms have fared in previous editions.

Having held firm among the top 10 contractors by revenue over several years, Vinci has slid down the rankings over the past two CN100s.

Turnover has fallen steadily over the past four tables, losing around 37 per cent of its value between the firm’s 2012 and 2015 entries in the rankings.

The decline in pre-tax profit was especially pronounced, bottoming out with a loss of £216.9m as per last year’s CN100.

Margins have naturally followed suit, having been around the industry average back in the 2012 and 2013 editions.
