CNinsight100 Specialists: Scaffolding

Cape Industrial Services remains at the top of the scaffolding table for the 2011 CNinsight 100, though results are for the year end to December 2009.

There has been a switch for the other podium positions. After a 25 per cent surge in turnover, Interserve Industrial Services edges ahead of Harsco Infrastructure Services.

Formerly SGB, Harsco Infrastructure changed its name last year as all companies acquired over the years came under the Harsco brand. Its latest accounts say plans are in place to return it to profitability after moving further into loss in the year to December 2009.

The top three dominate the scaffolding sector, accounting for 71 per cent of the total turnover. However they offer among the smallest levels of pre-tax profi t in the table, with all reporting drops in their results.

Denholm has edged up to eighth place, relegating Trad and Brogan Group to the bottom two after double-digit falls in turnover.
