Advanté is best known for supplying construction companies with its Oasis range of portable offices. The company has continued to pioneer in this area, launching a range of new EcoLogic and EcoMax offices to satisfy client demands for better energy efficiency, space and wider range of facilities.
The company rolled out its first range of Oasis offices 20 years ago and in 2016 recorded a turnover of £11m. It has also increased its focus on staff welfare, gaining membership of occupational health management scheme Constructing Better Health.

Echo Barrier specialises in noise reduction solutions with some of its products being used on New York’s World Trade Centre and the London Underground. The company has experienced a jump in demand due a partnership with one of the world’s largest equipment rentals companies, United Rentals, which has taken on a distributor role for Echo Barrier.
The firm has also launched the Generator Set Enclosure, an acoustics barrier fitted with waterproof and sound absorbing material, capable of reducing noise levels by 90 per cent.

A £175m-turnover business, Gap invested more than £73m in its hire assets in 2017 as part of efforts to position itself as the UK’s leading hire company.
The company worked alongside Costain, Vinci Construction Grands Projects, Bachy Soletanche and Brendon Powerwashers to develop the Super Silent Pressure Washer: a powerful pressure washer that reduces noise pollution and removes the need for a conventional radiator.
Gap has also demonstrated significant efforts on workforce diversity, reporting a gender pay gap of just 3.2 per cent.

Garic has looked to address the increasingly challenging sustainability targets faced by its clients, developing the EcoSeriesPlus 2+1 Drying Room.
This is a self-powered solar amenities block that does not require a back-up generator. It uses solar energy in conjunction with a wet heating system to re-circulate the energy generated by the drying unit to support bathrooms, showers and drying areas. It combines three solutions into one, delivering cost savings, an 86 per cent reduction in energy costs and 90 per cent reduction in emissions, the company says.

Specialists Awards 2018 Equipment Nationwide Platforms Birmingham New St
This £121m-turnover firm has invested more than £140m since 2014 in its equipment and power access platforms. As a result, Nationwide Platforms has been able to offer a more reliable and enhanced fleet to its clients.
Alongside Select Plant hire, Nationwide Platforms worked on a £212m 350-bed hospital in Dumfries and Galloway to provide a bespoke ‘partnered managed service’ for all aspects of powered access. As well as providing significant savings, the company helped ensure the project was completed on time and on budget.

Nomenca is an offsite specialist that focuses on its 3D modelling capabilities. The company was contracted to replace the dated equipment at the Uttlesford Bridge water treatment works at Saffron Waldon, which it delivered for an estimated £110,000 less than the potential cost of using traditional methods.
Nomenca took 3D laser scans of the site to capture all of the assets and produced a full utility survey of the underground services using ground-penetrating radar (GPR). The 3D model was imported into Nomenca’s virtual reality software and used to secure final sign-off from the client, the planning permission review teams and the construction teams, saving time on the programme.

Ramtech launched its Wes React fire alarm system in 2017 – a system specifically designed for construction sites.
Wes React is the third generation of Ramtech’s wireless alarm system, which features battery-powered, wireless and re-locatable call points, smoke and heat detectors that can be configured to match a site’s changing requirements. The system is backed by a mobile app and supported by the cloud data platform.
The units are secured in place according to a site’s fire plan and activated following a comprehensive set-up sequence.

Siltbuster has taken significant strides in helping construction companies tackle polluting wastewater that arises on site.
The company developed iHB20R specifically for FLO, the joint venture between Ferrovial Agroman and Laing O’Rourke. This integrated system is being used on the Northern line extension project to remove solids and adjust the pH level of water generated during the tunnelling and groundworks phase of the project.
Siltbuster’s RORO sweeper water dewatering system was also used during the King’s Cross redevelopment by Alandale Logistics, reducing the volume of waste for disposal by 90 per cent and halving the number of sweepers used.
