AFI Uplift – Thomas Gray
Thomas Gray uses his initiative as part of the team he’s working in to not only learn and develop himself, but also to use his academic learning to speed up processes onsite and share his knowledge with others on the team.
He is dedicated to his role and the standard of his work is first class, making him a good example for others both within AFI Uplift and across the wider construction industry.
Caunton Engineering – Natalie Harris
Natalie Harris is a great ambassador for young people working in the construction industry.
She is passionate and enthusiastic about the work she does in fabrication and welding.
Ms Harris has also consulted with MPs on ways to get more young people interested in careers in construction, and has a clear idea of her own career progression within the industry.
Crest Nicholson – Holly-Jane Boylan
Holly-Jane Boylan overcame a series of setbacks when first trying to join the industry to become a successful painting and decorating apprentice with Crest Nicholson.
Her enthusiasm and strong personal skills mean she takes on anything asked of her, and can work on a wide range of projects.
Ms Boylan is a credit to her employer and hopes to progress within the industry.
Eurovia Group – Andrew Underwood
During his time as an apprentice, Andrew Underwood has helped develop an asset capture system, volunteered to work night shifts, taken extra qualifications to further his career development and been a brand ambassador for the company at job fairs.
He demonstrates a positive attitude, leadership skills and is always willing to hand down his skills to other apprentices.
Lift & Engineering Services – Alex Shaw
Alex Shaw has triumphed over difficulties including dyslexia, ADHD and early career setbacks to successfully gain a place on an apprenticeship in lift engineering.
His attitude is first class - he is always willing to help, relishes taking on new challenges. Mr Shaw is exceeding Lift & Engineering Services’s expectations in the quality of work he does and in his dedication.
NG Bailey – Chris Reynolds
The commitment and dedication Chris Reynolds has shown to both his academic and practical learning are highly commendable.
NG Bailey has also been impressed by his passion for ensuring site health and safety is of the highest level. Mr Reynolds uses his own initiative on projects and has shown an aptitude for people management. He also has a strong work ethic and desire to succeed.
NG Bailey – Reanna Evans
Reanna Evans has made the most of her varied experience with NG Bailey, taking a hands-on role across a number of major projects.
She has also made the time to gain important experience in commercial activities, estimating and building information modelling.
Ms Evans is a shining example of a talented, mature and passionate employee and is a credit to herself and her company.
North Midland Construction – Simon Reeve
Simon Reeve has shown that he takes great pride in everything he does for North Midland Construction, from working with clients to recovering manholes to his academic work.
He understands both the commercial and people management side of business, and is driven and ambitious to succeed in the industry. He is a first-class employee who wants to do a brilliant job every time.
TSG building services – Tom Hunnisett
Tom Hunnisett is a strong advocate for apprenticeships; he has achieved his NVQ Level 2 and 3, ACS gas qualifications, two qualifications in the renewables sector and is proactive about developing his own learning.
He has shown a real interest and willingness to learn about the renewables sector and help others in the business to develop their skills in this area. He also shows great maturity and makes customers feel at ease.
