Exeter road works secure £12m Govt funding

A £12 million funding package has been earmarked for road improvements in the east of Exeter, transport minister Paul Clark has announced.

The money is to be poured into works on the C832 – the old A30 – and the addition of bus lanes at the Clyst Honiton/Inter-Modal Terminal Junction.

A new junction will also be built adjacent to Junction 29 of the M5 to replace the congested slip roads at the A30 Blackhorse Junction.

The announcement means that Devon County Council can move forward with detailed planning for the works.

Construction is expected to begin in October 2010, with completion by November 2011.
