Forth Bridge repair work worth £15m out to tender

Forth Estuary Transport Authority is tendering a 36 month £15 million contract for refurbishment work on the existing Forth Road Bridge.

Work includes the replacement or refurbishment of roller and rocker bearings on the bridge’s north and south approach viaducts.

Contractors will also have to carry out concrete repairs to the approach piers and strengthening to the steel box superstructures.

Permanent provision for this and future bearing replacement is to be installed at all piers.

Bidders have until 28 August to register an interest and will be required to provide a statement of health & safety policy and safety records for the last three years.

A shortlist of five firms will be invited to tender in October.
