Highways contractor sought for £120m job

Calderdale Borough Council has begun its search for a highways contractor to deliver work worth up to £120 million.

The local authority is seeking an infrastructure maintenance specialist to deliver improvement works worth up to £500,000 on pedestrian crossings and junction improvements, as well as lighting, maintenance of highways structures and infrastructure maintenance.

The delivery partner will need to demonstrate its ability to plan and deliver a broad range of environmental services evidencing where they have combined similar services in order to deliver efficiencies and savings

The contract will run for an intitial five year period with a possible ten-year extension agreement.

The deadline for submitting responses is 13 October at 12pm and a maximum of five firms will be invited to tender stage.
