... no, buy European

LETTERS

Sir, With reference to Sir Anthony Bamford's piece (Revved Up, February 2), a 'Buy British' campaign is an outdated idea for a country that has based its economic success on being part of Europe and the world economies.

Great Britain is attracting record levels of foreign investment.

As a 4.5 billion euro company, Liebherr has shown its own commitment by investing in the UK with the £15 million Biggleswade headquarters and aftersales centre, and across Europe.

In addition to the tracked excavator factory in France, the wheeled excavator factory in Germany, the bulldozer and wheeled loader factories in Austria, our engine plant in Switzerland, we have large crane factories in both Sunderland and in Killarney, Ireland.

We also have factories in Spain, Austria, Germany and Italy.

Instead of a 'Buy British' campaign how about: Buy strong, high-quality, European equipment that lasts and lasts!
