The 200-year-old Shire Hall in Stafford has been covered by what is claimed to be the largest single span temporary roof in Britain. Tarmac Refurb is restoring the home of the former Staffordshire Assizes as part of a £1.8 million contract and bought in M G Scaffolding to erect the roof. The structure will protect the exposed roof members of the Great Hall while timbers attacked by rot beetle are replace, strengthened and treated and lead and slate roof coverings are replaced.
