02Aug91 UK: WIMPEY WITHDRAWS FROM NORTH SEA OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY.

Wimpey has raised up to £18 million through the sale of its North Sea oil and gas industry fabrication yards, according to industry sources.Last week the company completed its withdrawal from the sector with the sale of its 50 per cent stake in Highlands Fabricators to yard partner Brown and Root.Industry sources claim Brown and Root only paid between £5 million and £6 million for the yard at Nigg Bay, near Inverness.Wimpey sold its SLP accommodation module building facilities ...
