A £75 million leisure park featuring a sub-tropical water complex is planned for the outskirts of Weston-super-Mare, Somerset.The scheme proposed for the 140 ha site at Puxton is being put forward by Palm Resorts International and includes a hotel, 720 holiday villas, a golf course and the glass-covered central dome itself covering 30,000 sq m.Temperatures in the dome would be kept above 27 deg C all year and the resort would also provide facilities for dining, bowling, video games and a sauna.Woodspring District Council is considering the plans and if all goes well the development could be up and running by 1996.
