03Sep92 UK: 120 JOBS GO AT ECC QUARRIES.

ECC Quarries last week shed 120 jobs in a move blamed on the recession and Britain's membership of the European exchange rate mechanism.The redundancies represent 10 per cent of the workforce and affect quarries throughout the country and minerals worked by the company.Managing director Ian Inglis said: 'The construction industry has been in a very severe recession and it is now most unlikely that there will be any improvement in the level of sales of quarry products throughout 1993.'
