The Health and Safety Executive is creating a post of chief construction inspector responsible for enforcement of construction safety nationally.Stuart Nattrass, currently director of the North London Area of the HSE, will be appointed on November 22 when he also takes over the chair of the HSE's Construction Industry Advisory Committee from Jeff Hinksman.Mr Hinksman is retiring from the HSE where he has been chairman of CONIAC for six years.Mr Nattrass' role will be particularly important over the next couple of years with the introduction of the radical Construction (Design and Management) Regulations next October.
