Italian based Clark-Hurth Components has announced two new axles and a powershift transmission, and expects to start production of a planetary axle with liquid cooled brakes later this year.First of the axles is model 183, an addition to its rigid planetary axle line. It has been developed initially for 17.5 tonne front-end loaders.Features include a nodular cast iron housing for better axle strength and a variety of flange to flange lengths for different applications. The axle can be mounted directly to the frame by pad mounting or by a central pivot mount. The second new axle is model 107, a single reduction unit which offers a maximum gross axle load of 2.5 tonnes. It is designed for small equipment which requires a differential axle without the reduction contained in planetary wheel ends. Current reduction ratios are 3.55, 5.37 and 6.43, but other ratios can be produced. The transmission is the S32600, a six speed forward, three speed reverse transmission for applications up to 149 kW. Standard features include electronic controls and a variable displacement pump, while options such as an emergency steering pump are also available. The company plans to start production of its model 14CH2 planetary axle late in 1994.The axle will have liquid cooled brakes and internal plumbing to provide protection from the environment.Typical carrying weight of the new axles will be from 15,260 to 18,160 kg.Clark-Hurth Components 010-39464 580111.
