05May94 UK: ELU POWER TOOLS LAUNCHES POWER ASSAULT.

Elu Power Tools plans to get a bigger share of the professional power tool market in the UK with the launch of tools in four new sectors - rotary hammers, grinders, cordless tools and drills.Top of the rotary hammer range is the MBH 26, with a 26 mm capacity. It has a D-shaped handle for overhead or down drilling and chiselling. A 24 mm capacity pistol-grip model offers higher performance and drill efficiency than a traditional 20 mm, 2 kg rotary hammer. Both the 26 and 24 mm models have rotation stops, for chiselling work. The company also offers a 20 mm capacity pistol grip rotary hammer. There are two externally powered screwdrivers. The ESD700, designed to drive dry-wall screws into timber or metal studding, and the ESD707 for self-drilling screws used in roofing and cladding applications. Both drills are made for continuous use and have adjustable depth-sensing nose pieces which automatically disengage the clutch. The ETS3001 'push-pull' saw is a new 300 mm saw bench which cuts a wide range of materials from soft woods and hardwoods to plastics and glass-fibre materials. A dovetail extrusion system on the bench allows optional attachments, such as the right hand extension table or roller table, to be fitted quickly. The Elu DB10EK dry diamond drill has power provided by a 1,300 W motor and can drill up to 152 mm dia holes.A safety clutch protects the operator if the tool is excessively loaded or the bit jams in the material. And the company claims that the oil-filled gearbox gives a better performance than conventional grease-filled gearboxes. The CNC860 machining centre takes a standard Elu MOF177 router. This is mounted on a supporting bracket over the top of a metre square work support table.Three motors drive the router in any specified direction, including a vertical movement plunge cutting and depth of cut setting.Elu Power Tools 0753 511234.
