05May94 UK: HAVERHILL IS PIPED ABOARD - HAVERHILL BUYS GARD FUSION'S ASSETS.

Haverhill Generators has acquired the assets of Gard Fusion, which makes electro fusion controllers for the pipe laying industries. Haverhill plans to keep the Gard brand name and develop its UK and overseas market share. The range will now be made at Haverhill's Kettering factory under the control of Andre Ruest, who designed the Gard units and their menu driven interface. The range comprises a lightweight, portable model which weighs 24 kg, and a larger Combi unit which includes a generating set.The electro fusion welding process produces water and gas tight joints by means of a coupling which incorporates copper heating elements. Used with recommended couplings, the system senses the pipe diameter and presets the fusion time.Haverhill Generators 0536 520677. CONSTRUCTION NEWS
