07Oct93 UK: BRAAS GIVES LIFT TO REDLAND AS GROUP PROFITS JUMP 22PC.

The continued strength of Redland's German operations and savings from the Steetley acquisition helped the materials producer to raise pre-tax profits by 22 per cent to £108 million (1992: £88.5 million) in the half ending June.The company also pointed to an improved UK housing market and better materials prices, which it believes will lead to some recovery in profits.Roof tile volumes at Redland's German subsidiary Braas rose 7 per cent, thanks to a strong housing market ...
