07Oct93 UK: DOT SENDS OUT £90M SOUTHERN ROADS TENDERS.

Contractors have picked up tender documents for two Department of Transport road schemes in the south-east, worth more than £90 million.The larger, worth about £47 million, is the long overdue Iwade bypass near Sittingbourne in Kent, which contractors have been expecting since April.The line-up consists of Norwest Holst, Balfour Beatty, Amey, Amec, Alfred McAlpine and Costain.Work is now expected to start either by the close of this year or early next, lasting for two years.The ...
