08Oct92 UK: MERSEYTRAVEL SEEKS FUNDING APPROVAL FOR PLANS £12.8M UNDERGROUND STATION IN MERSEYSIDE.

Merseyside will get its sixth underground station if a £12.8 million plan meets the approval of the Department of Transport.The station, named Conway Park, is at the heart of a £37 million City Challenge scheme proposed by Wirral council.The region's transport executive, Merseytravel, has asked the Government for credit approval to fund half of the station's cost.
