Two Midlands contractors were fined £4,000 last week following a site visit by a safety inspector who spotted steel erectors walking along 6 m high narrow beams without harnesses.The dangerous balancing act happened at Watford Gap Services on the M1, where Midland Oak Construction and Grange Engineering Co (Southam) were building an extension in April.Grange Engineering of Bishops Itchington, was fined £3,000 and main contractor Midland Oak of Kenilworth was fined £1,000 ...
