09Aug91 EIRE: ABBEY REPORTS PRE-TAX PROFIT OF I£350,000 FOR THE YEAR ENDING APRIL 1991.

Dublin-based house building and construction group, Abbey has returned to the black with a pre-tax profit of I£350,000 for the year ended April 1991, compared to the loss of I£15.48 million for the previous year.For the second year running, Abbey is not paying a dividend, consistent with its policy of refusing to pay dividends out of reserves.A spokesman said Abbey wanted to be able to go back to paying dividends with the confidence that returns to shareholders will be steadily ...
